About Us

Who We Are

The UBC Chemical and Biological Engineering (CHBE) Council is the official undergraduate student council of the CHBE department at the University of British Columbia.

We represent, support, and advocate for students — bridging the gap between peers, faculty, and industry while building a tight-knit engineering community.

Our Mission

We exist to elevate the CHBE student experience through professional development, academic support, social connection, and industry engagement.

From first-year orientation to fourth-year graduation, we are here every step of the way — ensuring every student feels informed, supported, and proud to be a CHBE engineer.

A Century of Excellence

Since 1915, UBC's chemical engineering program has stood at the forefront of innovation in Canada. The CHBE Council carries that legacy forward — connecting generations of students through shared purpose and a drive to engineer a better world.

Our alumni lead in industries spanning energy transition, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and environmental remediation worldwide.
